„BIG ONE“ 2016 – Five couples saying "I DO!"

Flowers, cakes, music, gowns, suits and many gloomy faces… everything was perfect. Not only perfectly prepared by the organising team of Vision for Africa together with Pastor Ambale, many other helpers and the couples themselves, but also perfect in emotions. You could literally feel the excitement in our Community Hall in the Land of Hope where this big event took place the second time, on Wednesday 28th of September 2016. But what else was to expect if already a wedding of one couple is filled up with emotions, how would a wedding of five couples be?

The „Big One“ is a mass wedding, initiated by Mama Maria Prean, for the glory of God, to officially wed couples who planned to get married but could not afford a big official church wedding or any other reason being, for not having married yet. It is a big celebration of love and commitment and after last years' success and more requests, a second big wedding had been organised. Vision for Africa provided food, accommodation, gowns, cakes, flowers, photographers, an officially licensed pastor, preacher, a music team and everything that is required for a beautiful complete wedding. The main part for the couples was to be there, joyfully smiling and to speak out the right words in the right time.

This year, out of our ministry Vision for Africa three couples have had the wish to shift their relationship up to the next level and make it a lawful covenant before God and people to stick together as husband and wife in good and bad times until their lives end. Two more couples from outside found the way to Kiyunga and said „I do“. We are convinced the heavens were rejoicing with us and the angels had joined our hymn „To God be the Glory“...

Mama Maria spoke about the importance of weddings in the bible by showing us that the word of God itself starts and ends with a wedding. She also gave good advice for the freshly married husbands and wives and encouraged all present couples to consider the Word of God as the number one marriage counselling book (see Ephesians 5).

God is the one who initiated weddings and we felt His presence at this one! Indubitably everyone present was blessed being part of this special ceremony.

To God be the glory!
