P7 candidates safari 2015
We organized a safari for the P7 candidates after sitting for their Primary Leaving Examinations. This safari is intended for the kids to have fun off from the examination stress, and as well, enjoy Uganda’s wildlife in preparation for their secondary school education.
It was on Sunday 8th November 2015 that the first group boarded the bus on a two day and three night's safari. The second group left on Wednesday 11th – 13th for the same trip
.At around 6:00am, the jubilations on the bus were unseen before as the children poured out their excitement ready to travel such a long distance of over 500km to the west Nile province.
It was awesome! One of the teachers exclaimed, because, just like the children, teachers hardly find such moments in life due to how expensive it is to visit such places and therefore, it is left in the hands of foreign tourists, and now it was time for exploration of what they have for so long taught in abstract, eyes on, no blinking, no dozing for the whole day’s journey, no matter the fatigue. We visited Murchison Falls Game Park situated along Victoria and Albert Nile and had stop overs at different towns of Luwero, Nakasongola, Masindi for Breakfast and lunch before entering the park.On the return journey we used Karuma road past Kiryandongo back to Kampala then Mukono from where we observed the Karuma Falls and the different people along the way.
Murchison Falls Game Park is a large park with different animal species such as gorillas, baboons, monkeys, elephants, kobs, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, leopards, crocodiles, Hippos, birds and various tree species among others.
We enjoyed the Boat ride to the bottom of the falls and a game drive to the top of the falls from where we observed how the water struggles fighting one another for the way down the falls at a terrifying speed and noise with foam and mist. We got chance to cross river Nile on a Ferry to Northern part of the park (Pakwach) and all this was in wonder of how God created the universe with such power that no man can tell it all.
We thank the mighty God and his son our lord Jesus Christ for the beautiful world created for us to enjoy and the gift of life thereof, the protection and provision at all circumstances withholding nothing. We extended our gratitude to our loving director Mama Maria, Madam Tedi, Ramona and our dear sponsors for their unending support to our school activities. We bless you.
