Discipleship Training
The discipleship training that started on 17th March 2015 ended on 20th June. God has worked and is still working in our lives, both students and staff.
The need for training and equipping our children through discipleship training arose when we evaluated ourselves and could not identify any Christian leaders among our children yet they had received the education. We realized that we had missed the mark and had to return to the core value which is spiritual growth. This could be achieved through equipping children with the Word of God and evangelism thus the birth of discipleship and leadership training.
The main objective of this training is
To hearken to God’s mandate of raising disciples. (Matt 28:19-20)
To impact and raise Christian young leaders to form a support team to work with in the annual camps and in future join in visiting partner schools to run Bible clubs/fellowships. (2 Tim 2:2)
During the training, we learnt how to interpret the Word of God and apply it in our lives. We also learnt how to tell others about Christ Jesus. This was done through a drama "Born again to a living hope" that saw us ministering in 10 partner schools where 1,308 students received salvation, assurance and dedication to Christ Jesus. May the Lord be praised!
We also learnt to serve the community with joy in different areas. This combined with sports activities were times of bonding. Commitment, devotion and discipline were values that we cherished.
By the end of the training, our lives were not the same both physically and spiritually.
We are thankful to God for each and every department that helped toward the success of this training. Special thanks to our Director Mama Maria Prean for the support she continuously gives. We also appreciate our partners Word of Life Fellowship Uganda and Veritas College Uganda for laying the foundation of the Word of God. May God bless you all!
The next discipleship training starts in January 2016.
